Q: HOW EXPENSIVE IS THIS COMPARED TO OTHER GROUP TRIPS?

A: Most comparable group trips can start anywhere from $8,000 without flights. We are competitively priced and offer uniquely personalized experiences with an intimate group of like-minded women. With Girl Trip Tours, you get access to exclusive luxury experiences, but you'll also be engaging with locals in a meaningful way and impacting the next generation of African leaders. Q: Who are these trips designed for?

 A: We have thoughtfully curated a purpose-filled itinerary for women who travel for more than just the ‘gram. If you’re looking for a little adventure and wide-eyed wonder to delight your soul, this trip is for you. If you enjoy having deep conversations with women who encourage the quieter parts of your personality to pop, this trip’s for you. If you want to celebrate African women who are working together to build a more equitable future for the next generation, this trip is most certainly for you. We cater to women of all ages, at varying life stages and have designed the itinerary with this in mind.

Q: Are your trips for Black women?

A: Yes, most certainly AND they are also for any woman - racialized or not - who is excited to celebrate the women of Africa and its Diaspora through adventure and exploration. 

While we may curate certain ancestral and healing experiences that will specifically cater to women of African ancestry, our trips inclusively welcome any woman who is comfortable experiencing the African continent from a perspective that centers African women in a cultural, historical, and societal context. 

Make no mistake, this is definitely a space where Black and African women lead the agenda and the itinerary. So if this notion excites you and you’re eager to move beyond being a tourist and immerse yourself in a local reality, while being supported by a global sisterhood, then this trip is for you. And we warmly welcome you to our community!

Q: Can I join a Girls Trip experience by myself?

A: Yes! Girls Trip Tours was designed to enable solo-travel for women who want to explore African destinations on their own terms. You can definitely attend the experience by yourself.

We close our trips at about 10 or 12, depending on the location, so groups are quite intimate and more than half of our previous travelers have joined alone, while others have been sisters, friends or mother-daughter duos.

Q: CAN I PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE SPACE?

A: Yes, please contact us directly to purchase multiple spots. There are discounts when booking for yourself and at least 3 others.

Q: ARE SINGLE ROOMS AVAILABLE?

A: Yes. Standard pricing reflects a shared double room, but there will also be a package priced for those who prefer a single room.

Q: Can you accommodate vegans, vegetarians or travelers with special diets?

A: Yes! Just let us know when you make your booking. We have an onboarding form, where you can share those details. If you are very strict vegan, there may be some food items that you won’t be able to sample during the trip, but we’ll ensure you are well fed!

Q: HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A GIRLS TRIP TOUR?

A: Here's what we advise - 

• Purchase travel insurance

• Determine if you need to update your passport, especially if it’s less than 6 months from expiration

• Determine if you need a visa

• Purchase flights

• Check vaccine requirements

• Notify your banking institutions of upcoming travel

• Withdraw cash for local shopping e.g in open air markets. Bring $100 bills for local exchange or withdraw at the ATM once you land

Don’t worry. We will send a full packing list and pre-travel guide prior to departure.

Q: DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

A: Deposits are non-refundable after 10 days. Before that, you can get a full refund minus a service fee of $175. 

More than 90 days prior to the departure date, trips are 50% refundable (excluding the deposit, which is non-refundable). After that, trips are, unfortunately, non-refundable.

Please try to make sure that you can attend the trip before booking it or get ‘cancel for any reason’ trip insurance.

Q: DO TRIP SCHEDULES OR ACTIVITIES EVER CHANGE AFTER MY BOOKING?

A: Yes, while we try to stay as close to the promoted schedule as possible, everything on the trip is subject to change due to weather and other local factors.
